Emerald Pools

This beautiful summer day in 2015 felt like the perfect day to lose myself in the enchanting Emerald Pools of Zion National Park. Angels Landing was breath taking. So I had to see what else Zion had to offer.

It was a short little hike, just 2.3 miles out and back. The best time of year to hike would be between April and December. Dogs are not aloud on this trail at all, unfortunately.

The really cool part of this hike is that there are 3 pools, an upper, middle and a lower. The trail to the lower pool is paved, but a little sandy and rocky on the trail to the upper pool. The upper pool is at the base of a cliff. The coolest part is that there is a stunning waterfall!

Fun fact: More people have died on this hike than on Angels Landing.

I felt… Sparkly. That is the only way I could say it. It was just magical. The peaceful sound of the waterfall and the beautiful Emerald rock sparkling through the clear, fresh water.

Would I do it again?

Yes! It was a nice quick hike to remind me there is such a thing as magic and happiness. Just from mother nature.
