Delicate Arch

I arrived at Moab National Park with so much excitement.  I didn’t know where to start.  I had seen so many gorgeous photos and videos of the park and couldn’t believe I was finally there. After I calmed down a bit I decided to start with one of the main attractions of Moab, the Delicate Arches Trail.

This 3 mile out and back trail is very busy and is the most recognizable hike of Moab. You may see the beautiful landmark on Utah license plates. It is a very popular background for most Utah products.

There is a brief moment of height exposure so watch your kids on that part.  Other than that, the hike is very kid friendly. In spring and fall the temperature is a little bit cooler but there is no shade, so make sure you pack lots of sunscreen and water.

The arches in Moab are formed of Estrada Sandstone. The original sandstone, Fin was gradually worn away with weathering and erosion, leaving the arch. It’s amazing!  I love mother nature!

Elevation Gain: 600 ft.

I went right away, early in the morning and it was perfect. While there were a lot of people, it was not too crowded. I saw many families so it is very family friendly.  It was a great and refreshing hike to start my day!

Would I do It Again?

Yes of course! A nice, quick hike to see a famous and super cool arch. Best way to live! Let me know about your experience! I would love to hear your perspective of this famous hike.
